FOOT CARE PHYSIOTHERAPY

Your feet form the very foundation of your body. When pain, misalignment, or instability set in, it can affect your whole life and not just your steps. At BalanceCore, our Foot Care Physiotherapy service is designed to realign, rehabilitate, and re-energise the way you move.

Common Foot
Conditions We Treat

  • Many people think of flat feet as something genetic and untreatable. In fact, only a small percentage of people have congenital flat feet. Most people have normal foot arches when their feet are unloaded, only becoming flat when standing up. It is highly correctable with strengthening exercises, change of balancing strategy, and supportive footwear.

  • Bunions are usually a result of chronic high stress loaded to the front and inner part of the feet. Inappropriate footwear can worsen the condition too. There needs to be a shift of balancing strategy and manual loosening of restrictions at the ankle region to reduce pressure towards the toes.

  • Feeling heel pain when you step on your feet after waking up? You may have inflammation at your calf tendon or plantar fascia! Some who suffer from repeated heel pain may also have bone spurs developed as compensation. Don’t let your feet suffer further! You need to learn how to balance differently and tone up muscles in the core and hips region to offload the pressure onto your feet.

  • Ankle sprains usually cause ligaments around the ankle to be over stretched or torn. With proper correction to bone alignment and support, usual healing time is between 2 to 6 weeks. When ankle pain and unsteadiness last longer than 6 weeks, it is likely the underlying imbalance in the body is causing the delay. Please consult us to identify the root cause behind the stress.

  • Most foot issues are chronic due to wrong habitual posture when we stand, walk, and run. As our body is highly integrated, it is important for our physiotherapists to assess your whole body to see how other parts of the body are affecting your feet.

  • Stiffness in ankle mobility and overuse of calves often leads to knee pain and hip joint misalignment. In our practice we always assess the ankles and feet when a patient is having back or knee pain.

  • As our feet are always subjected to high loading during sports activities, having appropriate balancing strategy and proper foot control is very important to sports excellence. We understand different requirements of each sport and ensure your feet and ankles are ready for the sport!
